The sign reads: "48th Ohio Flag Secreted 6 Months in Camp Ford Texas"
That flag is displayed furled on the left. There is a pasted-on insert, which
looks like a postage stamp, entitled "Captain J.W. Frazee."
The original photo is around 6 x 9 inches and mounted on a cardboard
about 10 x 12" The original is quite faded. There are no ID marks
on the back.  It was probably the property of Morgan Tedrick.
Tedrick is almost certainly the man sitting in the front row second from left.

Maj. John Bering is standing to the left of the man holding the sign.
The photo appears to have been taken at a 48th OVVI reunion shortly
after the turn of the century.
We are very grateful to William D. Henderson for contributing this photo!

Capt. James Sowry reviewing the troops (c. 1902).

The original picture belonged to Henry Arnold who died in 1947. It is most likely of members of the Isaac Duncan GAR Post 477, West Milton, OH. (West Milton is located about 35 miles north of Dayton on State Route 48) It was taken in front of Terrell's Drug Store (now Fox Pizza) in downtown West Milton.

Pictured on the first step from left to right followed by year of death is:

? , Peter Vore 1902, Henry Glunt (Glant?) 1915, Ephraim Earhart 1912, Charles Folchenur (Selling?) 1908, Dr. Kessler 1914, James Sowry 1905.

Pictured in the 2nd row from left to right are:

Sam Reddick (Bow Tie), Wesley Faulknor (Tall Man), Andrew Turner, Mark Campbell, Don Chase, Sam Folker, Mose Pierce, Henry Arnold 1947, Adam Boram, US Flag. [According to Boorom family researcher, Linda Boorom, the man in the photo must be Andrew Boram, not Adam Boram. Andrew was a member of Company D & E, 48 OVVI.]

Many thinks to Don Martin for contributing this photo!

OHIO VETERANS MEDALS

"Several years ago a gentlemen who had visited your website emailed me that his brother-in-law in Texas had my great great grandfathers (Levi J. Reed) "medal". I called this person and they were kind enough to sell it to me. The "medal" is a German Silver reunion badge that my G.G Granddfather wore to veteran's reunions. The brother-in-law had found the badge as a young man when he and his grandfather tore down an old house in Columbus Ohio and found it in the attic. He had the badge for over 30 years and made the case for it. It is the most cherished item in my 48th collection." - RALPH BAUGHN
