CO. "C", 48th REGIMENT
OHIO VETERAN VOLUNTEER INFANTRY

Belt and US oval buckle

"No regiment of which I have any knowledge, during the late war, bore a more honorable or conspicuous part than the 48th Ohio. It was a regiment upon which I could depend at all times, and under all circumstances, for just what was needed. It was under excellent discipline, and always ready at a moment's warning, to drill, march, or fight."
Brigadier General W. J. Landram

Co. C, 48th Reg. Ohio Vet. Vol. Inf. is reactivated within but not restricted to the War Between the States Historical Assn. in Southern California. Civil War Reenacting is an exciting hobby for the armchair historian, student or serious Civil War enthusiast. We recreate the war between the states to teach and inform spectators, to lose ourselves in the time, and to share the comradery of the members of our unit. We are accepting new members who wish to reenact, not fight, the Civil War. No one will be turned down on the basis of sex, religion, race or political views.

Co. C, 48th OVVI is a related to the Co. G, 3rd Georgia Volunteer Infantry. When members of the 3rd GVI galvanize as federals, they portray the 48th OVVI. We are also a sister unit to Co. C, 48th OVVI which is part of the Army of the Gulf in Louisiana.
